Knox - The Biggest Little Church I Know

Family. An extended family. A great big, boisterous extended family. And, oh yes, a Presbyterian Church congregation as well.

I grew up in the church, raised our family in the church, then as the kids were grown and gone, and after 25+ years of marriage - got a divorce. I've been divorced about 13 years.

I drifted away from my faith and church as time went by. Moved to another town, changed jobs, met many new people. Thought I was "Livin' the Good Life." Plenty of money, all my toys, hobbies, sports that I loved; that kept me busy, but after a few years I started to sense that something was missing in my life.

I hesitantly began going to church on Sunday morning. Not every Sunday morning mind you, but and more as time went by. I noticed this little Presbyterian Church, so I went there once. I went to a Methodist church across town, then went back to this little Presbyterian Church. Went to a Christian church, then went back to this little Presbyterian church. Went to a non-denominational, "modern" church a few times to give that a chance. Went back to that little Presbyterian church. For a long time, when I went to church it was automatically that little Presbyterian church. I was still a little shy to stay after worship for coffee, until one Sunday a wonderful couple sat down next to me and engaged me in conversation and insisted I stay and meet a few people. It finally sank in that the Lord was telling me that I was home.

It still took a while for me to realize I needed to be a member of this church family, but eventually I did, and I am!

I am so grateful and thankful to this church. I met my life mate her, I made my cursillo because of this church family. This church has been there for me when I really needed support spiritually, emotionally, and financially. I have true friends here. God bless our family.

We don't stand on pomp and ceremony. We don't get distracted by rituals. It's okay if we make mistakes or don't sing well during worship. We're here worshipping God and that's what's important. We're being human, we're being real. We're being a family congregation. We're being Knox Presbyterian Church - the biggest little church I know of.
