Our Ministers
The Whole Congregation:
All people of faith have been given gifts by God to be used in the life of the community of faith, in the greater community, and in mutual care of one another, in witness to Jesus Christ who came “not to be served but to serve” (Matthew 20:28). So everyone who is a member or friend of Knox is considered a minister and is encouraged to use their gifts in service to others as disciples of Jesus Christ.
We believe that some are given particular gifts as Ministers of the Word and Sacrament – to care for and nurture a particular flock of Christ; to study, teach and preach God’s Word; to administer the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper; and to encourage , equip and lead the people in faithful discipleship.
Pastor
Our pastor is the Rev. Sue Fleenor, a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Sue is a 1981 graduate of San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, CA, and has served many congregations in Northern California over the years. She is now serving her 13 th year of ministry with the Knox congregation of Presbyterian Church and delights in being partners in Christ’s service with this blessed community of faith. Sue brings to her ministry a passion for joyful, creative and meaningful worship; a strong commitment to nurture others in the faith through worship, study, prayer, and spiritual disciplines; and an equally powerful commitment to strengthening the congregation’s call to be servants of Jesus Christ in the world where we live and work and play.
Pastor Emeritus
The Rev. Lloyd Strehl is the founding pastor of Knox Presbyterian Church. We are honored that he still lives in the community, and worships with his wife, Doris.
Lloyd officially began his ministry in January 1962 when the congregation first worshiped in a garage near the present facility. Under Lloyd’s leadership Knox Presbyterian Church was chartered in June of 1963 and in August of 1964 the church broke ground for the building of our current facility.
